The Tibetan Youth Tenshug, to be held on September 10 2025, is a project/event to bring together Tibetan Youth between the ages 18-45 from across the world to stand together in offering a Long Life Prayer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

His Holiness, his teachings, and our cultural and religious heritage are core elements of our Tibetan identity and therefore our community. The preservation of Tibetan Buddhist culture is not only essential for promoting human values for a more peaceful and happier world, but also a more connected and resilient Tibetan diaspora.

An independent organizing committee has been established, currently with 13 core committee members, who are a combination of youth community leaders and individuals representing a cross section of our diverse Tibetan youth population. In our diversity, we are not politically or regionally aligned or motivated.

We are driven and united in our goal to express our appreciation for His Holiness’ teachings and leadership, to pray for his long life, and to commit to working toward the fulfillment of His Holiness’ vision.

The Tenshug offering will strive to be inclusive and engage with all young Tibetans (lay and monastic) between the ages 18 and 45.

Our Values

Inclusive: We ensure that the Tenshug program is inclusive of all Tibetan youth, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. We create a welcoming and supportive environment where each participant feels valued and has the opportunity to contribute based on their expertise and interest.

Oneness: We operate independently, with no affiliations to any association, political parties or religious groups. Each committee member participates in a personal capacity without representing their roles or titles.

Educational: The Tenshug event will be a platform for education, offering participants a deeper understanding of Tibetan buddhist culture, and the four major commitments of His Holiness. Through experiential learning and engagement, participants are empowered to enrich their knowledge and personal growth.

Environmentally conscious: We will endeavor to consider the environmental impact of our activities when making decisions related to both the Tenshug and the Youth Festival.
