The Tibetan Youth Tenshug is an opportunity for Tibetan youth to stand together in our support and appreciation of His Holiness’ tireless work for Tibetans and humanity. It is an opportunity to connect with our traditional and cultural practices and strengthen our Tibetan identity.

The Goal:

  1. To express Tibetan youth support for His Holiness’ work by praying for his long life and the fulfilment of his four major priorities.
    • The promotion and cultivation of secular ethics and universal values
    • Religious harmony
    • Preservation of Tibet’s language and culture
    • Revival of ancient Indian knowledge related to the mind and emotions.
  2. To educate and create connections between traditional and modern expressions of Tibetan-ness and Tibetan Buddhism among the Tibetan youth.
  3. To connect and engage young Tibetans in the diaspora around Tibetan cultural practices with a broader goal to mobilise and empower the youth to actively
    evolve the Tibetan movement.

What is our pledge?

The Tibetan Youth Tenshug asks that as a participant of the ceremony, you consider
what you can pledge to contribute to fulfilling one or more of His Holiness’s four
commitments.

This pledge should be taken with consideration and sincerity as this is your promise to both yourself and to His Holiness.
